Secret: This was the second time that I deal with Japanese client.
First time is for NEC JAPAN when I stayed in TATUNG co..
They really treated things seriously.Every details are so important and precisely.
But it was a good training for me.For example,they would ask many kind of test such as color,drop,painting etc..
This time,as usual,they want me do a design timeless and ask me to achieve a different assignment.
Like every AV system in car,usually,module properly same.And they will meet same question that screen is too deep.Due to LCD iron frame,button mechanical etc. reason.So they asked me to deal with it.It's hard to them but actually for me,is not.Like LCD TV I did before,that kind of question,I met many times.But I still try my best.First of all,I want to find a statement or story for this device.What's the meaning of entertain?And what is the experience memory that I want to bring it to people?One of my idea that they liked very much was show-time and theater's screen cloth.Because I want to create a wide screen and happy feeling.I kept screen wider and over with buttons.Like a show just begin.They like it.And that's the very first I do presentation for client.Since than,I do many presentations for my company.I still could remember that I spoke good morning in Japanese and introduced myself too.Haha,they were impressed.That's a very good experience.I like it,too.

Secret:This Project actually was really fun.It was for limit version.And we took the produce order to excise our manufacture ability.Except design,I need to find vendor to manufacture it and find provider to offer material.How to made it reliable & teach workers to assemble it.

I also need to design a outer paper box.Same process,I also need to find vendor to produce it and figure out how to ship it to mainland china.It was really a funny project not only design itself but process too.Made me think other way.I still can recall as I arrived factory,and see projection.How I discuss with master worker what kind of feel I need.Because I want a very clear coat feel.So tool's clean and temperature was very important.How I find a strap vendor and after order only 5k orders' they laughed at me.I found many vendor for that.Some appreciated my effort some didn't.I needed draw a detail sketches to discuss every detail.Woo!Still a complicated job.I love it.It made me think product in other way.Not only designer's thinking but more complete.

secret:Last time this company changed their design Since ten years ago.

And they are looking for a timeless and elegant design for their bottle again.

I did many sketches for it.At first I am looking for something different.Something more like perfume bottle or some shape more meaningful. After several days,and discussed with client I tried to limit the shape to one curve or one arc.Like client want:elegant design.

Finally,client chose one design that only one arc different.They like it.Although I don't really like.

But It's my first time for doing package design.
